Our biathlete of the month for February 2026 is sharp shooter Boris Stanish (0,0,0,0), the first Aussie to shoot a perfect 20 out of 20 at a YJWCH in the Individual at the 2026 IBU Youth Junior World Championships in Arber, Germany
, where he finished 34th out of 96 starters.
Boris is Australia's most accurate full IBU season shot this season at 78% - a 13% improvement on last season 🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯. We're looking forward to seeing him break 80% next year.

Special mentions to:
- BA's para nordic coaches Kaspar Wirz & Bjorn Taylor for taking on the para challenge, including months of gruelling training, travels, camps and competitions in Australia
, NZ
Canada
& Europe
.
- BA's Sports Director & Paralympic team manager Sandra Paul OLY and Director Murray Johnson for their immense efforts behind the scenes to achieve the selection of such a big Paralympic team. For over a year they've workedtirelessly with the team, Paralympics Australia and the IBU- securing grants, managing funds, facilitating programs, lobbying for quotas, and processing thousands of emails & whatsapps - and it's totally paid off. We can't overstate the enormous amount of work behind the scenes. Thanks so much
🙏.
- Nic Blackwell for his Australian team debut in the 15km Individual at IBU Cup 8 in Lake Placid, USA
.
- Julia Smusz & Heather Wiederkehr for leading our recent come'n'try biathlon sessions and development camps in Canberra, Jindabyne and Wodonga attended by over 20 promising athletes
.
- Katrina Sparke for sourcing, co-ordinating and handling our tremendous team uniforms for our development, national and masters teams 💚💛💚💙
You guys rock.
