Dear Biathlon Family Australia,
Congratulations to our full National Para Team on their selection for the 2026 Milano Cortina Paralympic Games in the Italian Alps.
With the 7.5 km Sprint and 12.5 km Individual now in the record books, Australia can proudly boast that, in addition to our seven Olympic biathletes, we now have five Paralympic biathletes in our nation’s sporting history.
All athletes selected to represent Australia are Winter Paralympic debutants, joining a very exclusive club that previously had only one member. James Millar, PLY, represented Australia in Para Biathlon at the 2006 Torino Paralympic Games and, until two days ago, was the only Australian to have done so. He is now joined by our outstanding National Para Team.
Our team includes Lauren Parker, OAM, PLY, a veteran of two Summer Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024), where she won two gold and two silver medals in triathlon and road cycling.
She is joined by her fellow National Para Team members who are now eligible to apply to use the PLY post-nominals:
- Matt Brumby
- David Miln
- Taryn Dickens, alongside her guide Lynn-Maree Cullen
Our Australian Biathlon Paralympic Team is led by Head Coach Kaspar Wirz, with ski support from Bjorn Taylor. Alina McMaster serves as Assistant Coach, and Sandra Paul, OLY, is Team Manager.
We couldn’t be prouder of Lauren, Matty, Dave, and Taryn alongside her guide Lynn-Maree Cullen, on becoming Australian Winter Paralympians. We wish them all the very best for the remainder of their Milano Cortina 2026 campaign.
Biathlon Australia — your biathlon, since 1976.
David, Sandy, Brett, Libby, Katerina, Kate, Mark & Murray
