Victorian Government Funding for BA 2026 & 2027 National and Australian Biathlon Championships

Dear Biathlon Australia Family,

Biathlon Australia are thrilled to announce that we have secured funding from the Victorian Government’s Significant Sporting Events Program for the National and Australian Biathlon Championships in both 2026 and 2027, to be held at Whiskey Flat, Mt Hotham, Victoria. 

This assistance will greatly benefit our community and contribute to the ongoing promotion of the Olympic/Paralympic sport of Biathlon. We are extremely grateful for the Victorian Government’s generous support.

Minister for Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said the Victorian Government is proud once again to back the National and Australian Biathlon Championships.

“Thanks to the Significant Sporting Events Program, Victorians will have the chance to see elite biathletes compete at their best and further cement Victoria’s position as a leader in high-performance sport.”

“These championships will showcase the iconic Mt Hotham and help boost the region’s economy by supporting local businesses and accommodation providers.”

We are truly excited about the potential these events will have to inspire participation, showcase Australia’s awesome Biathlon talent, and celebrate sportsmanship - all in Victoria’s beautiful Alpine environment.
