Phoenix Sparke leads AUS OWG Wildcards Q points rankings
Dear Biathlon Family Australia,
On the back of Phoenix Sparke’s world class World Cup debut he is now leading the AUS 2025-26 Olympic Winter Games (OWG) Wildcard Q points ranking as at 14 Dec 25. You’ll recall the Board provided a Wildcard 101 earlier this year explaining qualification to the 2026 Milano Cortina OWG based on the final OWG Q point list of 18 Jan 26 and how the list is determined. Following World Cup 2 and IBU Cup 2 the 2025-26 OWG Q point list is as follows:
- Phoenix Sparke #1: 120.27
- Darcie Morton #2: 122.62
- Noah Bradford #3: 135.07
- Boris Stanish #4: 165.86
- Damika Morton #5: 234.89
- Rosie Franzke #6: 235.30
- Isabella Moon #7 338.57
Only the IBU Cup, Open European Championships, World Championships, and World Cup contribute to the 2025-26 OWG Wildcard Q points ranking. Entry level events such as Regional Events and Junior Cup Q points do not count for the purposes of Olympic nomination or selection or for AUS NF/NOC being awarded special quotas. Regional Events and Junior Cups are not Olympic qualification events.
The Board congratulates all our athletes on their results this Olympic and Paralympic qualification season. Special mentions also to David Miln, Lauren Parker, and Taryn’s guide Lynn-Maree Cullen on their Parabiathlon World Cup debuts this week. Matt Brumby and Taryn Dickens, as seasoned World Cup campaigners, are also competing at the first Parabiathlon World Cup of the season in Canmore, Canada. We wish all our Para World Cup athletes the best of success as they wrap up their 2025 Paralympic campaign in the next 24 hours with the Individual biathlon event.
