Chapeau Noah - World Cup debut incoming πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Dear Biathlon Family Australia,

The Australian flags are once again flying proudly in Oberhof this week as we celebrate the start of the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2026 (World Cup 4).

We are delighted to announce that Noah Bradford will be joining the long list of Australian athletes to compete at World Cup level, having met the IBU World Cup minimum qualification requirements.

Under IBU Event and Competition Rules (1.5.3.3), athletes must meet defined performance standards at IBU Cup or higher-level events to be eligible for World Cup competition. Noah has achieved this standard on more than one occasion during the current Olympic season.

At IBU Cup 1 in Obertilliach, Austria, Noah produced a faultless (0,0) performance in the 10km Sprint, earning 118.95 IBU qualifying points (inside the sub-125 Q point requirement). He backed this up at IBU Cup 2 in Ridnaun in the 10km Sprint with another clean shoot (0,0) and a solid 68th place, earning 109.51 qualifying points. Noah currently holds 135.07 OWG Wildcard qualifying points.

Noah is no stranger to high-performance sport. He is a recipient of a Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and represented Australia (AUS NF) in biathlon at the World Winter University Games (WWUG) last year in Torino. For those with an eye on following in Noah’s footsteps, the next WWUG are scheduled for 15–25 January 2027 in Jilin Province, northern China.

As Biathlon Australia celebrates 50 years of leading the sport in Australia, we wish Noah all the very best for his World Cup debut this week. Don’t forget to tune in to watch the Men’s 10km Sprint, live and free on Eurovisionsport.
