Dear Biathlon Family Australia,
NSW Fair Trading confirmed the deregistration of NSW Biathlon Association on 4 July 2025, allowing for Biathlon Australia to formally become the unified and recognised NSO/SSO across all states of Australia. Biathlon Australia would very much like to thank the 4 directors of NSW Biathlon, being Brad Greentree, Blythe O’Hara, Toni Hulme and Lachlan Greentree, who progressed the deregistration of NSW Biathlon over the past 12 months, to allow the deregistration to be finalised.
BA has been running the biathlon programs in NSW for the past 12 months as the handover of roles was being transitioned, including at the Anzac Range, on snow at Perisher and involvement in the $4 million development of laser biathlon facilities, roller-ski facilities, dedicated Clubhouse and upgrade of athletics track at Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre. The Jindabyne facility is now 50% complete with final completion scheduled for May 2026.
Biathlon Australia has followed Snow Australia in becoming another Australian Olympic sport to unify into a single organisation to govern the whole sport from the grassroots to the elite. Snow Australia was the first Australian Olympic sport to adopt a unitary governance model on 1 November 2018. Less than seven years on and Biathlon Australia now fully operates as a single national organisation for the benefit of the sport.
Biathlon Australia, officially unified, stronger together.
David, Sandy, Brett, Libby, Katerina, Kate, Mark, and Murray
