Boris Stanish shortlisted for IBU Social Media Award

A huge congratulations to Boris Stanish, who has been shortlisted for the IBU Athletes Award for Excellence in Social Media 2025/2026.

Boris has been recognised by the International Biathlon Union for his work on social media, helping to promote biathlon and share the sport with a wider audience. It is fantastic to see the work of an Australian biathlon community member recognised on the international stage.

Boris is one of a select group of shortlisted candidates from around the biathlon world, with the winner to be announced at the IBU Awards Night and Congress Dinner in Berchtesgaden, Germany, on 19 September 2026.

Congratulations Boris, and best of luck for the awards! We will be keeping our fingers crossed for an Australian win.

Julia Smusz Continues Her IBU Para Coaching Journey

Coming up shortly, Julia is heading into Part 2 of the IBU Para Coaching Course, building on the knowledge and experience she gained during Part 1.

Speaking ahead of the course, Julia said she is looking forward to “reinforcing what I learned from Part 1 and taking this and applying it on the snow”, while continuing to develop her journey as a Para coach.

Her focus for Part 2 is on finding new ways to keep athletes actively engaged and consistent in their training, while supporting them along their individual development pathways and helping them work towards their goals within the sport.

We look forward to hearing how Julia’s Part 2 involvement and the experience as a whole goes and what new knowledge she can bring back to the Australian biathlon community.
