Biathlon Australia at the IBU Congress
Biathlon Australia will be represented at the upcoming IBU Congress, where Sports Director Sandra Paul and Chair Dave Windsor will attend.
One of the key items on the agenda will be the election of the new IBU Executive Board, which will lead the International Biathlon Union over the next four years, through to the 2030 Alpes Winter Olympic Games.
Dave Windsor to present on sports governance
BA Chair Dave Windsor has again been invited by the Biathlon Integrity Unit to present at the IBU Congress on the topic of sports governance.
Last year, Dave was a member of the IBU's Governance Consultation Working Group, which helped shape the IBU's Governance Framework Submission process.
This invitation is further recognition of the significant strides Biathlon Australia has made through the implementation of the 13-point plan, the unification of the sport, adoption of the National Integrity Framework, recognition as a National Sporting Organisation and a record-breaking 2026 Paralympic Team.
The future remains bright for A Better Biathlon for All.
Dave Windsor appointed to AOC working group
BA Chair Dave Windsor has also been appointed to the Australian Olympic Committee's Member Sport Technology and Digital Innovation Working Group.
Dave brings decades of experience in IT and commercial legal matters to the group, having represented organisations including Basketball Australia, Cricket Australia, Golf Australia, Netball Australia, Martial Arts Australia, Project B, RSEA, Sports Entertainment Network, Spotlight and Tenpin Bowling Australia.
His extensive experience across sport, technology and commercial matters will be a valuable addition to the working group as it explores opportunities for innovation across the Australian sporting landscape.
Telemark Nordic Ski Club Host Biathlon Fun Day
Telemark Nordic Ski Club welcomed families and newcomers to a fun introduction to biathlon at Mount Hotham on 29 August, with the event supported by Biathlon Australia.
The activity was led by Australian biathlon legends Bob Cranage and Lynn Maree Cullen, both recent World Masters Biathlon medallists from Kontiolahti. Together, they introduced participants to the sport in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Local Sporting Champions grants
The current application round for Local Sporting Champions grants is open until 31st October. This grant round is applicable for athletes who are aged from 12 to 18 years old and are planning on competing overseas this year during the European season.
