Biathlete of the Month
Dear Biathlon Australia family,
The biathlete of the month for January 2026 is Noah Bradford.
Noah's outstanding shooting, skiing and results have catapulted him to #1 on the Australian Team's Q-Point list with 111.26 Q-Points.
Noah had great success in December 2025, lowering his Q-points to 128.54 by the end of Trimester 1, thanks in large part to clean shooting at the IBU Cups held in Obertilliach (118.95 Q points) and Ridnaun (109.51 Q Points).
Following these great results, Noah continued to have an excellent January 2026 and achieved some tremendous milestones including:
- Making his World Cup debut on 8 January in Oberhof, Germany
- Earning a personal best 105.33 Q points, by finishing 65th in the IBU Cup 4 Sprint in Arber, Germany (shooting 0,1 & finishing 2 mins 51 seconds behind the winner)
- Competing with Darcie Morton in Australia’s first ever Single Mixed Relay at a World Cup in Nove Mesto Na Morave, Czechia
- Earning one of Australia's two World Cup spots for Trimester 3
- Shooting 74% so far this season
- Just missing out on an Olympic wildcard as 4th reserve (in 16th place on the wildcard list)
Honourable mentions to:
- Phoenix Sparke ranked #2 on the Australian Team Q-Point rankings at 120.16. And maintaining his World Cup spot. Phoenix and Noah are Australia's only World Cup representatives. Phoenix also shot clean in his 25th place at the Junior Open European Championship 10km Sprint in Imatra, Finland
- Boris Stanish (0,1) achieved a PB 127.11 Q-points at the IBU Cup 5 10k Sprint in Brezno-Osrblie, Slovakia. Boris is shooting at 77% this season - Australia's best so far.
