Dear Biathlon Australia Family,
This week we celebrate something that sits at the very heart of our sport — the extraordinary people who give their time, energy, and passion to make Biathlon Australia what it is.
National Volunteer Week is a timely reminder that so much that BA does is made possible because of volunteers (past, present and future), including:
- The incredible parents, partners, families, and friends who drive, cheer, fund and support our amazing team members;
- The wonderful coaches who pour countless hours into developing athletes, refining technique, and inspiring a love of the sport that can last a lifetime – from newbies to masters;
- Every volunteer who has ever set up a course, officiated an event, managed a team, organised a camp, driven across Europe, sizzled a snag, arranged uniforms, designed promotional gear, prep’d skis, helped at a working bee, or simply shown up when needed;
- Members of working groups and committees that quietly get things done when no one is looking; and
- BA’s Board, who work tirelessly behind the scenes on advocacy, funding, governance, integrity, partnerships, strategy, stakeholder engagement, compliance, accounting & legal. The countless decisions you make and actions you take every single day have a profound impact on biathlon in Australia.
Thank you all – you truly contribute to BA’s vision for A Better Biathlon for All .
You are the backbone of our sport. Without you, there are no races, no pathways, no community, no TeamAUS. Biathlon Australia exists because of you.
During this National Volunteer Week, please take a moment to recognise the volunteers in BA, your local community and in your life. A simple thank you goes a long way.
With heartfelt gratitude
