The Olympics and the Paralympics are over. Are you sad? Are you curious about the sport of biathlon? Do you want to try it out?
Biathlon is a winter sport that combines the thrill of cross country skiing (skate) with the skill of rifle shooting. Athletes ski in both sprint and distance races that vary in length according age category. During the summer, athletes will train on roller skis.
Biathlon Australia will be holding roller ski and biathlon laser rifle sessions on Sunday mornings from 9am to 12am, each weekend between Sunday 29th March and Sunday 31st May (excluding Easter and ANZAC Day weekends) at Stromlo Forest Criterium Course.
Come to one session, or come to all!
For these sessions, participants will use roller skis & poles (provided) and laser rifles (provided). Coach Heather Wiederkehr will help you learn the ropes or further develop your skills. If you do have your own roller skis & poles, please bring them along!
Boots and roller skis are available in limited quantities. If unanavailable in your size, training can be replaced by run/walk, so please bring/wear your running shoes. Please note, that late registrations may mean that your boot size cannot be guaranteed.
