Biathlon Australia Laser Biathlon Schools Event 

Divisions 1, 2, and 3

Date: Tuesday 19 August 2025

Where: Perisher Valley Biathlon Range

Bib Pick-up: from 8.15am 

Course Inspection: from 8.30am

Event Start Time: 9.00am

Entries Close: Friday 15th August at 11pm

Presentation: Will be held at the conclusion of racing at the Snow Australia presentation venue at 3.30pm. 

Racing Format:

• XC skate technique (classic permitted).
• Combined mass start/interval start with live timing.
• 50m laser system to be used.  
• Competitors will ski loops and include 2 visits to the laser range. 
• Competitors will have 10 shots to hit 5 targets.  
• Penalty loops will be skied where targets are missed.
• Medals will be awarded to place-getters.

Registration: Click on register to enter the event and book your training session,

Schools Competition: A School's Cup will be awarded to the girl's and boy's school that achieves the highest point score using a combination of participation and racing results.

Laser Training Sessions: Laser training sessions will be available on Monday 18 August between 1pm and 3.30pm in 30 mins blocks. Please only book 1 session per student, to allow all students to have an opportunity for training.

It is suggested at least one training session is attended so you are familiar with using the laser biathlon system and the loops you will ski on race day.

There is no cost to attending a training session.

XC Skiing Training Sessions: Entrants must be able to XC ski. Please contact the Perisher XC Ski Schools for your XC skiing instruction requirements.
