2025 BIATHLON FUTURES CAMP  

A Biathlon Futures Camp is being held for interetsed athletes to learn more about biathlon and develop their biathlon skills. 

If you are ill or have flu-like symptions, please do not attend. 


When: The Futures Camp will be held from Monday 14th July to Friday 18th July 2025.  

Where: The Camp will be held at the Hotham Biathlon Arena.  

Cost: The cost of the Camp is $330 for the week. Daily and session prices are also available

Time: Session 1 -  10am to 12 noon | Session 2 -  1.30pm to 3.30pm (Session 1 arrive at 9.30 for 10am start, session 2 arrive at 1pm for 1.30 start)

Camp Structure:

The Camp will have two sessions per day which will include XC Skiing, shooting (either .22 or laser depending upon age) with a 1 and a half hr lunch break in-between sessions. Sessions will run for up to 2hrs depending upon athlete capability and experience. There will be a focus on technique and learning, but also ensuring the sessions are fun and engaging. Friday afternoon's session will be a fun race.

At the end of the Camp, athletes are encouraged to stay and register for the weekend and join the Super Sprint activites on Sat 19 July. 

Who Should Attend?  Biathlon Futures is for anyone who wants to try biathlon, has tried biathlon a little and wants to try some more, it is for ages 9+ and all levels of getting started.  Attendees should be able to XC ski at an Interschools beginner level.  

Equipment Required:  Skate XC skis and poles will be required, gloves, sunglasses, ski beanie/headband. Athletes are encouraged to wear layers of clothing which can be removed as warming up commences. Laser biathlon equipment will be provided. .22 rifles will be available to use.

Range Pass: Athletes involved with .22 activties at the Future Camp will need to purchase a Range Pass and indicate if they hold a their firearms licence or minors permit.  Click here to purchase your Range Pass.

A Range Pass is not required for laser biathlon activties. 

Drinks and Snacks: Athletes should have plenty of drinks and snacks with them for during the sessions. 

Membership:  Membership of Biathlon Australia is required to attend the Futures Camp.
