2022 Victorian Biathlon Championships 

(.22 calibre)

The 2022 Victorian Biathlon Championships are being held over two days and are selection events for the Australian National Team, Australian National Junior Team and Australian Development Team. 

Format

Saturday 23rd July:    Sprint 

Sunday 24th July:       Short Individual 

Cost: $50 per event  | For U14 and U16, $50 entry fee includes 2 Sprint events on Saturday 23 July 2022. 

In 2022, races will be live timed through Alpine Timing, including penalty loop counting. There will be spot prizes and medals awarded to place-getters. 

Range Pass: A Range Pass will be required to enter events. If you do not have a Range Pass, Please click here to puchase a Day Pass.    

U14's and U 16's:  On Sat 23 July 2022, entrants into the U14 and U16 age classes have the opportunity to race 2 sprint races. The 2nd race will be for practice purposes and will commence after presentations for the Sprint results of all age classes.

For U14’s and U16’s medal will be awarded on the result of their first Sprint race as will selection to the Australian Development Team for U16 athletes.

Zeroing:  Zeroing will commence at 9.00am to 9.45am.

Each athlete will be asked to nominate a coach to support their zeroing, Please advise your coach's name when registering your entry.  If you do not have a coach for zeroing, please advise "No Coach" when registering and a zero support person will be provided for you.   

Racing:  Will commence at 10.00am 

Starting Order:  Start order will be randomly drawn for each Age Class for Saturday sprints. For Sunday, the order of starting will be the reverse of Saturday's start order for each age class. 

Official Training: Official training will be held on Frday 22nd July between 10.00am and 2.00pm.   

Range Closure: The Range will be closed from 2.00pm on Friday 22nd July to prepare for racing.

Race Briefing: A Race Briefing will be held on Friday 22nd July ay 6pm. The briefing will be on-line via zoom and a link will be sent to registered coaches. 

Race Assistance: Biathlon races require volunteer assistance to be held. Please nominate the name of a person who will be able to provide volunteer assistance with your entry. They do not have to be a licensed shooter to assist.

 Notes 

  a) * Athletes who are turning 18years in 2022, but will not be 18yrs on the day of this event, will race in the U18 age category due to firearms licencing laws and supervision of minors.  

  b) All competitors must hold a Minors Permit or Firearms Licence issued by a State or Territory in Australia. Overseas shooting licences will be accepted by arrangement. 

  c) Order of age class racing ans zero times will be advised with release of the Start List

  d) On Saturday 23rd July, U16 and U14 will race two sprint events, with the 2nd event to commence no later than 1.30pm.
